Incentives to Vote and Election Parties Near & Far

Many have said that the undecided will decide who wins this presidency. Let's hope they make the right choice and most importantly they get out there and vote!

There are plenty of incentives to vote today. All Ben & Jerry’s shops will be handing out free cones from 5pm to 8pm today if you vote. Find the closest scoop shop here. Krispy Kreme is handing out a star shaped rainbow sprinkled donut to anyone sporting an “I Voted" sticker. View their site here. Starbucks will also follow suit by giving away a free “tall” (12-ounce) cup of coffee to anyone who went to the polls to vote. Find a Starbucks near you by clicking here.

As far as election parties go, in Brooklyn, as well as nationwide, there are many parties to choose from. These festivities are sure to be exciting. Many are convinced this will be a fiery election, not just because today marks the end of a historic presidential race, but because they are expecting the losing party will inevitably ask for a recount. The controversial election in 2000 reminds us what an important day today is!

Brooklyn Based reports on The Bell House's Red + Blue Election Party, which will boast live music, food from the Red Hook Vendors, special candidate-themed cocktails, and more. Over at the Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO, expect to see nothing BUT blue at the Obama-Fabulous Election Night Party. Fourth Avenue's Pacific Standard will be offering drink specials, and in Park Slope, Union Hall will be hosting its own returns-watching party.
