AudraRox Rocks The Yard

The 1st Annual Carlyle Music Fest

This Saturday, MeanRed Productions are bringing AudraRox and her massive community of Rock N Strollers to The Yard. She is organizing a huge festival celebrating the birthday of a boy named Carlyle, with special performances by local blue grass bands and Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls alumni.

After years of teaching Music for Aardvarks, Billyburg rockstar/Brooklyn mama Audra Tsanos has developed quite a fierce fan club. Now, the singer’s devotees come out in droves to hear AudraRox perform. Her shows never fail to delight the entire family – we think it is her unique blend of feisty Rock N Roll songs with PB&J sensibilities that get those toddlers to dance and the parents to pump their fists. She performs insightful, original songs that tackle everything from lost shoes and broken toys to sugar highs and short attention spans with a wry wit that appeals equally to everyone aged 1 to 111. Her band’s critically acclaimed debut CD, I Can Do It By Myself, featuring Audra’s impeccably smooth vocals, catchy sing-along melodies, and a distinctive blow-the-roof-off-the-playhouse sound. She is joined by bands of all ages, ranging from the Dirty Sock Funtime Band, Toxic Muffin, Astrograss and Magnolia for a fun-filled day. Go on to her website AudraRox.com to find out where she'll be performing near you in the future or to buy her CD.

If you think kids are better off following the lead of Patty Smith than Britney Spears, and are better with a mic in their hand than a videogame joystick, then grab the nearest tot and come on out! Saturday, June 7th 2008, The Yard, 388-400 Carroll St (betw. Bond and Nevins), 1pm-9pm - Tickets: $12 per person or $30 per family.
