Ongoing Brooklyn Children’s Museum: Free Admission Hours & Spring Break Programs
. Children and families will find endless fun at the all-new Brooklyn Children's Museum, which recently introduced FREE admission hours every Wednesday afternoon, from 2 to 5pm, through June 30. In addition, while school's out for the spring recess you can see New York City's first "green" museum and take part in the Spring Break EcoFest with hands-on programs celebrating the natural world and our role in it, daily from April 9th to 18th.

Prospect Park Zoo: Spring Activities Free with Admission
Cost: Free with admission (FREE for children under 3; $3.00 for children 3-12; $7.00 for adults)
At Prospect Park Zoo (PPZ), families can get up close with some of the coolest critters in Brooklyn and learn their secrets from the people who know them best – PPZ’s animal care professionals – with these free programs: Meet a Keeper, weekends at 11am and 3pm; view a Sea Lion demonstration daily at 11:30, 2pm and 4pm at the Sea Lion Pool. Or explore hands-on activities at the Discovery Center for Kids, weekends from 11am – 3pm.

Rosemarie Hester, a teacher that specializes in offering ideas about multi-sensory activities will be at Community Bookstore on 7th Avenue. Please bring questions about your child’s learning! They will begin at 7:00pm and follow a question-and-answer discussion format. I hope to see you there!

3/28 - Prospect Park YMCA Strong Kids Fundraiser: Afro-Brazilian Drum & Dance Party - We will shake our stuff to raise money for our Strong Kids Campaign. There will be special guest drummers and dancers along with crafts and facepainting for the whole family. Teach your children to give back to the community while having a great time.

Brooklyn Public Library’s Central Library at Grand Army Plaza promises a spirited, FREE event next weekend, featuring “Funny Woman” Sarah Vowell, a contributing editor to Public Radio’s This American Life. The event, to be held at Central Library’s Dweck Center, offers listeners a chance to meet Vowell as she reads from her recent book The Wordy Shipmates.

The primary purpose of Y Splash Week is to help children of all ages learn basic swimming skills and water safety practices
Learning water safety and swimming skills helps to build self-confidence and self-esteem, which carry over into other parts of a child's life. During Y Splash Week, swimmers grow stronger in spirit, mind and body.
